Allyn L. Zvonik

Allyn L. Zvonik Allyn L. Zvonik Jr., 68, of East Moline, passed away Monday July 1, 2019, at his home surrounded by family.

Allyn was born July 17, 1950, in Moline, a son of Allyn Sr. and Dorothy (Fanter) Zvonik. He attended United Township and Moline High Schools and later married Molly Amsbaugh in East Moline, in 1979.

He was a truck driver for various companies in the Quad-Cities, including ATI and E&D Trucking Companies. He had a great love for working on vehicles and was known as the best Chevy mechanic around. He also enjoyed watching Westerns, drinking coffee and spending time with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife and lifelong partner: Molly; four daughters, Margo Hayostek-Smith, of Sherrard, Heather (Hugo) Proulx, of Moline, Heidi (Hammad) Zvonik, of Silvis, and Holly (Austin) Zvonik-Cockran, of Bettendorf; nine grandchildren: Adrian, Autumn, Hunter, Hannah, Carter, Zauriana, Zaliek, Zahira and Caeden; an uncle, Arthur (Diane) Fanter, of Coal Valley; and aunt, Roberta (Elwood) Hill, of East Moline.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Cremation has been accorded. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Van Hoe Funeral Home, LTD., in East Moline, is in charge of arrangements.
