Robert Stablein
1950 - 2003Robert L. "Bob" Stablein, 53, of Moline, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at his home.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, with military rites conducted by Moline American Legion Post No. 246. Visitation is Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
Bob was born Jan. 13, 1950, in Moline, the son of Frank S. and Shirley (Hansen) Stablein Sr. He married Joyce K. Dowell on Oct. 22, 1972, in Colona, Ill.
Bob was employed as a manager at Culligan Water Conditioning, Davenport. He was an U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. Bob was a member of Coal Valley Dad's Club and was very active in coaching his children's teams. He enjoyed fishing, horseshoes and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; daughters, Sheila Stablein and Sherry Stablein, both of Moline; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Jen Stablein, Colona, Ill.; grandchildren, Dustin and Branden; mother, Shirley Phillips, Kewanee, Ill.; father, Frank S. Stablein, Moline; sisters and brothers-in-law, Maye Dabolt, Kewanee, Sharon and Jack Olds, Rock Island, Julie and Larry Neels, Kewanee, and Marge and Chris Wagner, Roselle, Ill.; brother Frank Stablein Jr.; and sister-in-law, Susie Thomas, Moline.
Robert was preceded in death by a brother, Billy.
