Scott Ryser

Scott Ryser Robert Scott Ryser, 60, of Moline, passed away with family at his side April 27, 2011. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 30, at Wendt Funeral Home, 1811 15th St., Moline. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, 5001 34th Ave.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a college fund for his grandchildren.

Scott was born May 9, 1950, in Moline, the son of Robert and Janis Ryser.

Scott retired from John Deere Health Insurance and Sentry Life Insurance as a senior systems analyst in 2002, after 35 years of service. His fellow employees called him "Superman" because he always came to the rescue when they were in trouble. His commitment to his job was a hallmark in Scott's career.

Scott was a great father, who showed his unconditional love to his children and grandchild. He loved his family and enjoyed the gatherings at holidays and birthdays. He took pride in serving his relatives and friends.

During his high school days, Scott played guitar in a band called Regions of Darkness, which was famous for their shows at "The Rec". He was a skilled guitar player and loved music. He enjoyed baseball, football, pool, his cars, and horse racing.

Scott is survived by his mother, Janis, East Moline; his children (spouses) Robert Scott Jr., Loon Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada, Krista, Salt lake City, Utah, Steven (Amy), Taylor Ridge; sister, Pam Ryser, Rock Island; brothers, Jeff (Chris), Moline, Fred (Kathleen), Moline, and Joel (Allison), Moline. Scott had one grandchild, Jake (Steven and Amy, Taylor Ridge).

Preceding him in death were his father, Bob, and an infant sister, Susan.
