Lonnie King
Lonnie Lee King, 50 St. Petersburg, Fla, formerly of Moline, died April 23, 2001, at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Petersburg, of cardiac arrest.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. today at Sunrise Community Inc., St. Petersburg, with the Rev. Randy Helms officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family c/o Jackie Wessel, 3815 10th Ave. Place, Moline.
He was born Aug. 2, 1950, in Moline to Charles and Tina King. He was a 1968 graduate of Moline High School and attended Black Hawk College.
He had worked 17 years at J.I. Case in Bettendorf. He was employed at Sunrise Community Inc. for 16 years. At the time of his death, he was a day program coordinator, training adults with disabilities. He truly showed love and compassion for them.
Survivors include his wife, JoJo; children, Jeremy, Jessica and Christopher, St. Petersburg; grandchildren, Ethan River, Ava Rain and Alissa Lynn; his mother, Tina King, Moline; twin sister and her husband, Jackie and Tim Wessel, Moline; brother and his wife, Mike and Marilyn King, San Diego, Calif; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father on Dec. 21, 2000, and his grandparents.
