She was born in Moline, on April 22, 1950, to LeRoy and Mary Hull. She graduated from Moline High School and then got her degree in elementary education from Northeast Missouri State University (Truman University). She taught kindergarten and second grade before quitting to stay home with her two children. She volunteered at schools, tutored Youth At Heart through Asbury Methodist Church, prepared meals for Ronald McDonald House, went to schools to promote dental health with the help of "Mighty Molar" and was president of the Tulsa County Dental Auxiliary.
She did quite a bit of traveling until she found a home in Fort Myers, FL, that was her getaway place to relax by the ocean. She loved to try new recipes, read books and was an avid walker.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Michael Whitney, who was killed by a drunk driver. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Lindsey, Springfield, MO, as well as her son-in-law Tom; and her "M & M's" grandsons, Matthew and Michael. She will be deeply missed by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
