Marsha Lea Harris Ackerman
Marsha Lea Ackerman, (née Harris; formerly known as Breecher) passed away July 3, 2018 at 68 years of age in Cumming, Georgia. She is survived by her husband Robert Ackerman, daughter Bridgit Motes, and her husband Mark, and son Christian Breecher, her grandchildren, and her sisters Michelle Fisher, Marlo Greer and Melissa Harris.
She was born in Moline, Illinois on Apr 15, 1950 and raised there. She attended Roosevelt Elementary and Coolidge Junior High School and was a proud graduate of the Class of 1968 from Moline High School.
Marsha dedicated her young married years to raising her two children. She began taking college courses in her thirties while working full-time. She graduated from Blackhawk College with an Associate in Arts in 1989, and from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor of Business in Business Management in 1997. Marsha found her career passion in hospital billing and collection. She formed lifelong friendships while working for and consulting with hospitals across the country and had a true zeal for coaching and mentoring others. She was active in the American Guild of Patient Account Management (AGPAM) as a Certified Patient Account Manager, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMMS) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) where she earned the Follmer Bronze Merit Award and became a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional.
During her many years as a consultant and frequent flier, Marsha loved striking up conversations with in-flight seatmates and telling stories about the people she met. Marsha was determined, driven, loving, creative, dependable, faithful, optimistic and so much more.
She loved playing card games and board games, traveling, camping, gardening and enjoying the many splendors that nature provides. Above all else she treasured spending quality time with her family.
Marsha and Robert have been members of Perimeter Church in John’s Creek, Georgia since 2000. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at Perimeter Church on Monday July 9, 2018.
