LeRoy Hammitt
LeRoy Hammitt, 34, of 508 Springbrook Court, Moline, died this morning (Feb 29, 1984) at Illini Hospital, Silvis, IL.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline.
The Rev. Paul Aurand, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, Silvis, will officiate, and burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, East Moline, IL.
Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Illinois Heart Association.
Mr. Hammitt was born July 9, 1949, in Webster City, Iowa. He married Brenda Morris Dec. 21, 1968 in Silvis, IL.
He was employed as a welder at Seaberg Industries, Moline, working until June 1983. He also was a football coach for the Moline Dad's Club.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Robert, Rodney and Christopher, all at home; his mother, Vera J. Hammitt of Moline; a sister, Mrs. Patricia Morgan of Moline; and two brothers, Edward of Moline and Dennis of Monmouth, IL.
