Diane Marie (Dorland) Schlotman was born June 10, 1950 in Moline, Illinois to Edward David and Yvonne Marie (Koltenbeck) Dorland and passed away on November 2, 2009 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 59 years, 4 months, 22 days.

Diane was a 1968 graduate of Moline High School and attended Black Hawk Community College, also in Moline, IL. She moved to Nebraska in 1972.

On June 9, 1973, Diane was united in marriage to Grant Floyd Schlotman at Ashland, Nebraska. They lived near Memphis, Nebraska and in 1989 moved to Milford.

Diane completed her LPN Degree from Southeast Community College and received her Nursing Home Administrator's License in 1986. She served as Administrator at nursing homes in Aurora, Seward, Wilber, Utica and North Platte. Diane was a member of the Milford Assembly of God Church where she founded the Milford Guardian Angels. Diane was a lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary #9776 in Ashland, Nebraska and served as Nebraska State Auxiliary President in 1984-1985. She was a past Worthy Matron of O.E.S. in Ashland.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Yvonne Dorland. Diane is survived by her husband, Grant Schlotman of Milford; her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Russell Burgess of Gulf Port, MS, Tracy Fuller of Seward, Lucinda and Drue Jacobsen of Littleton, CO, Melissa and Toby Meyer of Seward; seven grandchildren, Mary and Chris Haynes, Alicia Kirschbaum, Alexis Kirschbaum, Haley Jacobsen, Pacey Jacobsen, Patrick Meyer and Piper Meyer; one great-grandson, Jacob Haynes; brother and sister-in-law, David and Nancy Dorland of Rock Island, IL; sister and brother-in-law, Denise McMaster and Michael Langston, Fort Myers, FL; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Celebration of Life was Thursday, Nov. 5, at Assembly of God Church, 303 South A St., Milford. The Rev. David Geary officiated. Signing of the Remembrance Book was Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, with family receiving friends at Zabka Funeral Home, Seward, Neb. Memorials may be made to Milford Guardian Angels.
