Lonnie Cox Thompson
Lonnie J. Thompson, 63, of Moline, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014, at home surrounded by her family.
Memorial services will be 6 p.m. Monday, April 28, at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111 1st St. A, Moline, with visitation one hour before. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. A memorial fund has been established.
Lonnie was born Nov. 15, 1950, in Moline, daughter of Freeman and Doris Nelms Cox. She married Thomas J. Thompson on Aug. 16, 1969, at First Christian Church, Moline. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1997.
Lonnie worked for Hancock Fabrics, Moline. She previously worked at Black Hawk College, North Scott School District and the former Velie Restaurant.
She was an avid crafter and seamstress.
Survivors include her children, Jennifier Thompson, Moline, and Jason Thompson, East Moline; grandchildren, Cody Blackwood, Cailey and Faelen Thompson; sisters, Vivian (Richard) Perdue, Moline, Cheryl (Rob) Garibay, Oklahoma, Pamela Newton Niner, Moline, and Lisa (Ed) Quist, Davenport; and brothers, James Schofield, California, Gregory (Tanya) Cox, Moline, and Shawn Gagne, Davenport.
