Steve Griffin Steven "Stevie Joe" Griffin, 71, of Moline, IL, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022, at his river house in Thomson, IL.

A memorial service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 30th at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, followed by a Celebration of Life at 4:00 pm at the Wunder Y in Moline.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Moline Little League.

Steven was born in Moline, IL, on December 4, 1950, to Donald and Elinor Griffin (Larson). He married Lisa Christensen on July 31, 1971, in Moline, who survives him. He graduated from Moline High School, class of 1968, and attended Black Hawk College, where he majored in Euchre. He was co-owner of Floorcrafters in Moline for 40 years, which he shared with his brother Bruce and many other family members.

He was a member of In-Fisherman, a long-time Bears season ticket holder. He coached and was on the Moline Little League Board of Directors, Moline Boosters Club Board and trained as an Arctic Warfare Specialist for the Illinois National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, birdwatching, betting on any sport with John and Jack, canoe and houseboat trips with his high school friends. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and spending time with his family at the river house and past summers in Bagley, WI.

His favorite quote was, “Peace and Love!”

Survivors include his wife, Lisa; children: Michael Jan (Tatum) Griffin, Rock Island, IL; Katie “Kate!” (Jason) Trent, Colona, IL, and Christopher “Stitch” (Scott Rexroat) Griffin, Colona, IL; grandchildren: Jack Shea, Nolan Griffin, Calvin Griffin, and Olivia Trent; his father Donald Griffin; brothers: Bruce (Mary), Michael (Joni), and Mark “Onie” (Julia) all of Moline; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother.
