Vicki Lee Tavernier Vicki Lee Tavernier, 58, of Davenport, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.

Services to celebrate her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at Risen Christ Lutheran Church, 6021 Northwest Blvd., Davenport. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Burial will be at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. Memorials may be made towards an education fund for her grandson, Mason.

Vicki was born June 7, 1950, in Moline, to Don and Edith Fischer. She married John Tavernier on Dec. 18, 1971, in Moline.

Vicki graduated from Moline High School with the class of '68. She then earned her bachelor's in music education, in voice and piano, from Western Illinois University. She taught in the Pinckneyville, Ill. School District. A former choir director, she taught piano lessons professionally and was an active soloist with St. Paul Lutheran Church and their choir. She was an ophthalmic scribe for Dr. Lawrence Hunter and also a receptionist for Neurology Consultants, P.C., Genesis Health Systems.

She enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking and traveling.

Survivors include her husband, John; daughter, Jennifer Banks, son, Sean Tavernier, and grandson, Mason Banks, all of Davenport; her father, Don Fischer, Gravois Mills, Mo.; sister, Debbie (Rich) Straub, Orion; and brother, Terry (Sue) Fischer, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her mother in 2004, and her grandparents.
