Gary Lee Anderson
Gary Lee Anderson, 70, of Moline, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 29, 2021.
A graveside service for close friends and family will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday May 15, 2021, at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. No flowers please. Gifts in his name may be made to the Moline Public Library, QC Paws, or the Animal Aid Humane Society in Moline.
He was a graduate of Moline High School and Augustana College, with a degree in political science. However, he was happy working as a cook, most recently at Denny's Restaurant in Moline, from which he retired in 2011.
In addition to being a good cook and baker, Gary was an avid reader and confirmed Anglophile. He enjoyed British television shows, and, if you needed any information about history, especially British history, he was your man. His family and friends will remember his quick and dry sense of humor and friendly nature.
Surviving him are his sister, Cheryl Lehew, and brother-in-law, CW Lehew of Punta Gorda, FL; his nephew, Sean (Meagan) Lehew and two great nephews, Caden and SJ Lehew, also of Punta Gorda. He loved and enjoyed visiting with his Aunt Bea Rosenberg of Moline. Many loving cousins, as well as his kind neighbors, and his good friend Reed Johnson of Moline, will miss him.
Preceding in death by his parents, Jane M. and Albert L. Anderson, many aunts, and uncles, and three cousins.
